Brooke Ligertwood Shares Biblical Inspiration Behind New Track “Participation.” In a reflective announcement tied to her latest music project, Brooke Ligertwood has shared the spiritual and creative foundation behind her new song “Participation,” from her upcoming album EAT. The track was the final piece she completed, and she says it marked the moment she knew the project was finished.

Brooke Ligertwood drew inspiration directly from 1 Corinthians 10:16 to 17, reflecting on the passage that describes communion as participation in the body and blood of Christ. She said she was deeply moved while reading the text at her piano late at night, describing how it shaped both the lyrics and the meaning of the song.

She emphasised that communion is not only an individual expression of faith but something shared across a wider spiritual body. In her reflection, she highlighted the idea that believers across generations, denominations, and geography are joined together as one through partaking in the “one bread.”

During the same writing session, Ligertwood also reflected on Jesus’ prayer in John 17 that His followers would be one. She said this prompted her to think more intentionally about unity within the global church and encouraged her to pray for it more often.

The live studio version of “Participation” has been released in partnership with Worship Together, giving listeners an early look at the tone and atmosphere of the forthcoming project.

As anticipation builds for EAT, Ligertwood’s new work continues her focus on themes of worship, unity, and shared faith, expressed through music that emphasises collective participation rather than individual experience alone.
