Karen Espinosa Releases “Desperate for Jesus” Featuring Tiffany Hudson. Dominican-American worship leader and Dove Award winner Karen Espinosa has released “Desperate for Jesus,” a new worship single featuring Elevation Worship vocalist Tiffany Hudson. The song is now available across major streaming platforms.
Recorded live at Elevation Studios, “Desperate for Jesus” serves as the English-language version of Espinosa’s Spanish worship song “Necesito a Cristo.” The new recording keeps the original’s intimate sense of longing while introducing Hudson’s vocals to the collaboration.
The song focuses on a simple desire to know Jesus more deeply, with lyrics centred on beholding His holiness and beauty. Its verses return to the imagery of the garden and the secret place, while the bridge turns that longing into a personal declaration of wanting to know Christ’s presence more intimately.
For Espinosa, the release adds another chapter to a growing solo career that has connected with worshippers across Spanish-speaking communities worldwide. The New Jersey native of Dominican heritage first gained recognition through Maverick City Música before establishing herself as a solo artist.
Her solo releases include Cristo El Rey and Aceite Nuevo, the latter recorded live in Tampa. Espinosa also earned her first Dove Award as a solo artist for “AMIGO,” further establishing her presence within contemporary Christian and worship music.
Hudson brings years of experience from her work with Elevation Worship to the collaboration. The GRAMMY-winning and multi-Dove Award recipient has contributed vocals to several of the collective’s well-known worship songs, including “More Than Able,” “SO BE IT,” and “Jesus Be The Name.”
She has also released solo projects including Hidden Here and When You’re In The Room, expanding her work beyond her role with Elevation Worship.
