The singer-songwriter recently took to Instagram to announce the upcoming release of “SOS (Don’t Let Me Go),” revealing the special story behind the track and inviting listeners to pre-save it ahead of its arrival.

Set to drop on October 30, the song will feature on Songs Inspired by The Chosen: Seasons 1–5, an upcoming album bringing together original music inspired by the series’ first five seasons. The project features a diverse lineup of artists who have drawn inspiration from the show’s powerful storytelling, memorable characters, and exploration of faith.

For Phil Wickham, however, this particular release has been a long time coming. The worship leader revealed that he had been working on the song for quite some time before an opportunity arose to connect it with The Chosen. When creator Dallas Jenkins and the show’s team approached him to write a song inspired by a specific scene, Wickham immediately knew which track to share.

“This song is especially close to my heart, and I can’t wait to share more of the story behind it with you,” Wickham wrote, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to what he described as “such a beautiful story.”

Alongside the announcement, Wickham encouraged listeners to explore The Chosen, available on Prime Video and the official Chosen app. He also directed those eager to hear the new song to the pre-save and pre-add link in his Instagram bio.

The release marks another meaningful connection between Wickham and the series. The singer previously performed on the set of The Chosen Christmas special and has continued to show his support for the show’s vision. With “SOS (Don’t Let Me Go)” serving as the opening track on the upcoming album, his contribution sets the tone for a project that brings music and biblical storytelling together.

The album also features an impressive roster of artists, including Anne Wilson, Jamie MacDonald, Lady A, Boyz II Men, and Tyler Hubbard, among others. Each artist brings a unique musical perspective to the stories and themes that have captivated audiences around the world.

As anticipation builds for Season 6 of The Chosen, Wickham’s upcoming release offers listeners another opportunity to connect with the series through music. With its themes of vulnerability, faith, and dependence on Jesus, “SOS (Don’t Let Me Go)” promises to be a particularly meaningful addition to the project.

Listeners can pre-save the single ahead of its October 30 release, when the full Songs Inspired by The Chosen: Seasons 1–5 album arrives. Wickham has also promised to share more of the story behind the song, giving listeners even more reason to look forward to its release.
