Chris Tomlin Brings Christmas Carols And New Worship Songs To Upcoming Album ‘Good News of Great Joy’
Chris Tomlin Brings Christmas Carols And New Worship Songs To Upcoming Album ‘Good News of Great Joy’ Grammy-winning worship leader Chris Tomlin is preparing to usher listeners into the Christmas season with his upcoming album, Good News of Great Joy (Christmas Songs of Worship), arriving November 6.
With just two weeks to go before its release, the singer is encouraging listeners to get ready for a collection centred on the hope and joy of the birth of Jesus.
Chris Tomlin shared the exciting news in a recent Instagram post, revealing that the album would soon be available across digital platforms.
“Wow… in just two week my newest album ‘Good News of Great Joy (Christmas Songs of Worship)’ will be available everywhere🎄 You can pre-add and pre-save now through the link in my bio!” he wrote.
Featuring 11 tracks, Good News of Great Joy (Christmas Songs of Worship) marks Chris Tomlin’s latest full-length Christmas album, bringing together beloved carols and original worship songs inspired by the heart of the Christmas story. The collection includes his previously released single “It’s Christmas Time Again,” alongside new songs such as “The Manger to the Cross” and the title track, “Good News of Great Joy.”
Listeners can also look forward to a reimagined version of “Joy to the World (Unspeakable Joy),” a Christmas rendition of “Holy Forever,” and “Day of All Days,” featuring Terrian, among other tracks.
The album’s title draws inspiration from the angelic announcement to the shepherds on the night Jesus was born, declaring good news of great joy for all people. That timeless message remains at the centre of the Christmas season, and Chris Tomlin brings it to life through songs intended to inspire personal devotion while giving churches and congregations music to celebrate together.
Beyond the music, the project will also extend into children’s literature. A companion book, also titled Good News of Great Joy, is scheduled to arrive on November 10. Illustrated by Scott Ligertwood, the story follows a young shepherd named Shep, offering families another way to engage with the message of Christmas.
Chris Tomlin will also take the album on the road with his Christmas With Chris Tomlin: Good News of Great Joy tour, which begins later in November, bringing the songs and the message behind them to live audiences.
With the release date fast approaching, listeners can stream “It’s Christmas Time Again” and pre-save or pre-add the full album ahead of November 6. Through this latest Christmas offering, Chris Tomlin continues to draw attention to the enduring hope of the season, pointing hearts back to the manger and the good news that changed the world.
