Oncemore Six Reframes Gospel Concerts With “Jesus And The Church” Vision. As anticipation builds for the upcoming “Jesus And The Church” Worship Concert at Faith Dome in East London, South African worship leader Oncemore Six is urging believers to return to what he believes should always be the true focus of any worship gathering: Jesus Christ.

Speaking ahead of the landmark event, the singer and worship minister explained the deeper meaning behind the concert’s striking title, which has already sparked conversation across the worship community.
According to Oncemore Six, gospel gatherings can sometimes drift toward celebrating the performers rather than the One being worshipped. His vision for the concert is to redirect that attention back to its rightful place.
“There has always been a lot of emphasis on the artists and their music when it comes to what we do,” he said. “I wanted to shift that focus. Yes, we have gathered to sing songs. Yes, we have gathered to worship together. But the focus is not the artist, and it is not even the music. The focus is Jesus meeting His church and the church worshipping Jesus.”
The worship leader spoke with deep conviction about protecting the heart of Christian gatherings.
“This space should never lose sight of the main thing,” he explained. “And the main thing is Jesus Christ. Everything else simply supports that.”
For Oncemore Six, excellence in music and production remains important, but it should always serve the purpose of glorifying Christ rather than replacing Him at the centre of the experience.
“We will prepare the music with excellence. We will prepare the songs with excellence. We will make sure the production is beautiful,” he said. “But it should never distract us from Jesus Christ. Sometimes we work so hard to get everything right that Jesus is no longer in the room and no longer in our hearts. We even stop thinking about souls and people coming to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.”
He added that every worship gathering should ultimately point people back to Christ.
“Nothing should ever take our attention away from Jesus being the centre of His church and the centre of His gathering,” he said.
Organisers say the upcoming concert is shaping up to be far more than a typical music event. Within the local worship community, many have begun describing it as a spiritual reset for gospel gatherings.
Instead of promoting a lineup of headline artists, the emphasis has remained on a shared encounter with God. That approach appears to be resonating strongly with believers, with many attendees saying they are drawn not by celebrity names but by the promise of a worship environment centred fully on Christ.
As East London prepares to gather at Faith Dome this weekend, the message from Oncemore Six remains clear. The lights will shine, and the music will rise, but the purpose of the gathering reaches far beyond the stage.
At the centre of it all is one name.
