Gospel Star Mmatema Cancels ‘Heart of Gratitude’ Tour to Enter Season of Spiritual Rest and Refill. Award-winning South African gospel artist Mmatema Moremi has officially cancelled her highly anticipated Heart of Gratitude album tour, citing divine guidance and a need for personal restoration after years of relentless ministry.

In an emotional statement released through the Mmatema Moremi Foundation on Wednesday, the Voice SA finalist and Idols SA alum thanked fans for their unwavering support while explaining the difficult decision as an act of obedience to God.
“After much prayer, reflection, and guidance from the Lord, I have decided to officially cancel the upcoming album tour,” Mmatema wrote. “This has not been an easy decision, but it is one I am at peace with.”
Drawing from the biblical account in 1 Kings 4:7, where the widow’s oil ceased only when no more vessels remained, Mmatema likened her current season to a divine pause. “The Lord reminded me through this scripture that sometimes, when there are no more cups to pour into, it is time to shut the door, rest, and refill,” she shared. “As ministers, we often give and pour continuously until the oil runs low. God has lovingly called me into an intimate season with Him, to refill, to rest, and to restore both spiritually and physically.”
The singer, known for hits like “I’m Blessed” and “Sovereign King”, urged fans not to purchase tickets from any sources claiming the tour is proceeding. “This cancellation is official,” she stressed, “and I will communicate directly when the time is right to gather again.”
Mmatema assured supporters that other 2025 commitments remain intact, including select appearances and ministry engagements. “It is only the tour that has been cancelled,” she clarified.
Fans are encouraged to continue streaming Heart of Gratitude and engaging with her music on the Mmatema Music YouTube channel, where she plans to share vlogs, devotionals, and behind-the-scenes moments. She also invited followers to subscribe to “Mmatema Mrs G”, her personal channel focused on faith, family, and daily life.
“I love you all so much,” she concluded, “and I truly can’t wait to see you soon.”
The cancellation marks a rare public moment of vulnerability for the usually high-energy performer, whose career has spanned television, radio, and sold-out worship events. Yet her message resonates deeply within gospel circles, where burnout among ministers has become an increasingly acknowledged reality.
