The Nigerian-born, Ottawa-based singer and songwriter reflected on the recognition in a social media post, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and acknowledging Pastor Godswill Oyor for his contribution to the journey. Ojo described Oyor as “God’s gift to me this season.”

Rather than focusing solely on industry recognition, Ojo used the moment to emphasise his desire to use music as a platform for the Gospel and the message of Jesus Christ.

“It is such an honor to use the gift God has given us to spread the Gospel, lift up the name of Jesus, and share His love through music,” he wrote.

The worship artist also stressed that the significance of the moment goes beyond awards and recognition. For Ojo, the greater purpose is seeing people encounter God through music and having the message of Jesus reach new audiences.

He also thanked the listeners, supporters, and people who have prayed for and supported his work, while directing the credit to his Christian faith.

“All glory belongs to Jesus,” Ojo wrote, adding his prayer that God’s name would continue to be glorified “through every song, every sound, and every opportunity.”

The 69th Grammy Awards are scheduled for February 7, 2027, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony will recognise recordings released during the eligibility period running from August 31, 2025, through August 28, 2026. The awards are also set to return to ABC, with streaming available through Disney+ and Hulu.

Ojo has developed an international profile through music that brings together contemporary gospel, worship and Afrobeat influences. His work with Pastor Godswill Oyor includes the spontaneous worship projects Journey in Worship and Journey in Worship, Vol. 2, alongside songs such as “We Want More.”

The projects have centred on extended worship moments and spontaneous expressions of praise, reflecting Ojo’s emphasis on intimacy with God through music.

A Recording Academy member, Ojo is signed to TRIBL Records and has previously received a JUNO Award nomination and recognition from GMA Canada. Alongside his recording career, he continues to serve as a worship leader and create music rooted in his Christian faith.

His latest Grammy consideration adds another moment to a growing career, but Ojo’s response remains centred on gratitude, collaboration and his desire to use music to point listeners toward Jesus.
