Phil Wickham Wins Artist of the Year At The 57th GMA Dove Awards. Phil Wickham took home Artist of the Year at the 57th Annual GMA Dove Awards, using his acceptance speech to acknowledge the worship leaders who have helped shape his journey in ministry and music.

The Fair Trade Services artist received the award during the ceremony on October 6 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, with longtime friend and fellow worship leader Chris Tomlin presenting the honour. Phil Wickham expressed gratitude for the community of artists who had shown him what it means to worship Jesus.
“So many people in this room had shown me the way of what it means to worship Jesus,” he said. “And it’s just an honour to do this.”
The recognition capped a successful night for Wickham, who entered the ceremony with nine nominations. In addition to Artist of the Year, he won Worship Album of the Year for Song of the Saints and shared in the win for Children’s Recorded Song of the Year for “Follow The Light.”
Through his music, Wickham has become a familiar voice in contemporary Christian worship, with songs that have found a place in churches and gatherings around the world. His album Song of the Saints continued his focus on creating music that directs listeners towards Jesus.
The 57th GMA Dove Awards, hosted by Tauren Wells for the fourth consecutive year, also recognised several other prominent names in Christian and gospel music.
Josiah Queen won Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “Dusty Bibles,” while Brandon Lake received multiple honours, including Songwriter of the Year (Artist) and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for King of Hearts. Jamie MacDonald was named New Artist of the Year, while CeCe Winans, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Elevation Worship were among the other artists recognised during the evening.
The ceremony also featured performances across Christian music genres, alongside a tribute to Dolly Parton led by Amy Grant and Natalie Grant.
For Wickham, the Artist of the Year award marked another significant milestone in a career centred on leading people in worship. His remarks also highlighted the influence of fellow worship leaders, acknowledging the people whose example has helped shape his understanding of what it means to worship Jesus.
