In a heartfelt social media post, Lake revealed that the retreat was born from a divine dream to support leaders in the country music scene. “God put a dream in my heart to start loving on and encouraging those leading in the country music space, and shortly after, He just started flinging wide the doors,” he shared.

The gathering saw top country artists and songwriters join forces with some of Lake’s closest collaborators from Christian music, diving deep into collaborative writing sessions. The outcome was staggering: more than 43 songs crafted in just five days. Lake admitted he was amazed by the productivity, saying, “I knew we’d get something special, but I never would’ve thought we’d get over 43+ songs in 5 days.”

While the specifics of the songs and their future release plans remain a mystery, Lake hinted at collaborations with well-known artists in the genre. Reports from Billboard and Whiskey Riff highlighted sessions featuring stars such as Lainey Wilson, HARDY, Thomas Rhett, Dan + Shay, Bailey Zimmerman, Russell Dickerson, and others. Christian music contributors like Benjamin William Hastings and Hank Bentley also played a vital role in blending the two genres.

Lake stressed that this retreat was about genuine relationships rather than commercial goals. “IDK what this next chapter looks like BUT I know it’s gonna be special cause it was birthed from genuine love and friendship,” he wrote. He expressed deep gratitude to everyone involved for their openness and creativity, and prayed for ongoing opportunities to give back to a community that means so much to him. “Thank you to everyone who poured out their heart and poured into me over those special 5 days. God bless Country & Christian Music!”

This retreat comes as Lake’s presence in the country music scene continues to grow. His recent collaborations, including the moving “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Jelly Roll and Jon Batiste, have already bridged contemporary Christian and mainstream country audiences. Songs like his duet with Cody Johnson, “When a Cowboy Prays,” highlight his gift for weaving faith into the fabric of country storytelling.
