The song, which arrived in May 2026, carries a simple yet powerful message centred on the reverence and authority of God’s name. Meaning “Your Name”, Igama Lakho blends contemporary gospel, rich African soul and layered vocal harmonies to create an intimate worship experience that feels both deeply personal and expansive.

The story behind Divine Souls SA began during South Africa’s 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, when founders Jerry Seabela, Maphuta Monareng and Sabata Masoka found themselves gathered in a Johannesburg living room. With the country facing uncertainty and isolation, the trio connected through music and acapella harmonies, laying the foundation for what would become a growing gospel collective.

From that moment, Divine Souls SA developed a clear purpose: to use music to uplift independent artists while creating songs that carry messages of faith, hope and healing.

On Igama Lakho, that purpose shines through. Nceba Sondlo brings a powerful and distinctive vocal presence to the track, adding emotional weight to the collective’s already commanding harmonies. The song also benefits from the experience of vocalists such as Sabata Masoka and Andiswa Mbantsa, both former members of Joyous Celebration.

The new release adds another chapter to a catalogue that includes the group’s 2021 debut album The Introduction, as well as singles such as Awuhluleki, Lesedi and Thel’umoya. Their 2024 Gratitude EP further established the collective’s ability to create music that speaks directly to the spirit while remaining accessible to contemporary audiences.

With Igama Lakho, Divine Souls SA shifts the focus towards the power of calling on God’s name. The song captures the comfort, surrender and trust found in worship, drawing from the biblical assurance that those who call on the name of the Lord will find salvation.

Musically, the collective continues to lean into live instrumentation, strong vocal arrangements and an authentic approach to worship. Their growing digital presence has also allowed their music to reach listeners beyond South Africa, while their visual productions continue to strengthen the storytelling behind their songs.

For Divine Souls SA, gospel is more than a genre. It is a vehicle for connection, encouragement and ministry. Their latest offering once again demonstrates how music can create a space where listeners can step away from the noise, reflect and reconnect with their faith.

And Igama Lakho will not be the last listeners hear from the collective. Divine Souls SA has confirmed that another single is already on the way, signalling that more music and moments of worship are still to come.

For now, Igama Lakho is available across major streaming platforms, offering listeners a powerful soundtrack for worship, reflection and moments of prayer.

Divine Souls SA continues to build on the vision that began in a Johannesburg living room during one of the country’s most uncertain periods. Through every harmony and every message, the collective is proving that faith-filled music can bring people together, lift heavy hearts and create room for hope.
