Mercy Chinwo to Headline London’s First-Ever Gospel Garden Festival
Mercy Chinwo to Headline London’s First-Ever Gospel Garden Festival. The sounds of heaven are coming to the heart of London this summer. Nigerian worship sensation Mercy Chinwo has announced she will headline the inaugural Gospel Garden Festival, sharing the stage with legendary American gospel icons Kirk Franklin, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Fred Hammond, and rising star Jerub.

In a heartfelt Instagram post from the British capital, the award-winning singer expressed her deep honour at being part of this groundbreaking event. “I’m deeply honoured to be headlining the First-ever Global Gospel Festival alongside legends and anointed ministers of God, Kirk Franklin, Tasha Cobbs, Fred Hammond, and more,” she wrote. “One stage. One sound. One name: JESUS 🙌🎶”
The festival is set for Sunday, 2 August 2026, at the iconic Gospel Garden, Crystal Palace Bowl in London — a stunning open-air amphitheatre nestled in Crystal Palace Park, known for its natural beauty and legendary concerts.
This marks a major milestone: the first large-scale global gospel festival of its kind in the UK, bringing together some of the most powerful voices in contemporary Christian music for a full day of worship, praise, and celebration under one roof or rather, under the open sky.
Mercy Chinwo, born Mercy Nnenda Chinwo in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, has risen from singing in her local church choir as a child to becoming one of Africa’s most beloved gospel ministers. With anthems like “Excess Love,” “Bor Ekom,” and “Akamdinelu” that have crossed continents and topped charts, she carries a distinctive voice that blends heartfelt Nigerian worship with universal appeal. Married to Blessed Uzochikwa since 2022, the singer-songwriter continues to inspire millions with her authentic ministry and powerful live performances.
Joining her are true gospel royalty: 20-time Grammy winner Kirk Franklin, whose innovative sound has redefined the genre for decades; Tasha Cobbs Leonard, known for her soul-stirring hits and vulnerable worship; and veteran Fred Hammond, a cornerstone of gospel music whose career spans generations. Together, they promise an unforgettable atmosphere where barriers dissolve, and the focus remains singularly on the name of Jesus.
Organised in partnership with Live Nation Urban and Palace Bowl Presents, the event is already generating huge excitement across the gospel community. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster and Live Nation, with early demand suggesting this could be one of the standout faith-based gatherings of 2026.
As Chinwo put it so beautifully: one stage, one sound, one name.
London, get ready. On 2 August 2026, the Crystal Palace Bowl will transform into a Gospel Garden, a blooming space of worship, unity, and divine encounter.
Who’s clearing their calendar? The garden gates are open. See you there.
