PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA. Musa Yende Declares God’s Power In New EP “Sustained By Grace.” A holy fire ignited at The Octagon when gospel powerhouse Musa Yende unveiled his anointed new EP, Sustained By Grace — a seven-track live recording that immerses hearts into the sacred depths of worship. More than a musical release, this spirit-soaked project is a revival cry, rooted in scripture, echoing the heartbeat of heaven and testifying to the sustaining power of God’s grace.

Recorded in 2024 at the iconic Octagon venue, known for its electrifying spiritual atmosphere, Sustained By Grace is not just heard — it is felt. Featuring collaborations like the soul-stirring “Amandla Amasha” with Brenden Praise, this offering is already moving hearts across South Africa and reaching ears far beyond its borders.

From the opening declaration of “Angesabi Lutho” — which boldly declares, “I will fear no evil”, — to the final amen, Yende ushers listeners into a space where heaven kisses earth. Just as 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind,” each song builds upon this promise, carrying the listener from fear into faith, from heaviness into hope.

The second track, “No Other God,” is a musical altar raised in unwavering devotion. With lyrics such as “We will serve no other God… Our knees will never bow to any man that is not You,” the track is both a battle cry and a love song to the King of kings. The instrumentation swells with authority, aligning with the truth of Exodus 20:3“You shall have no other gods before Me.”

Grace in Every Verse: Songs that Minister to the Soul

With linguistic fluidity in English, Zulu, and Xhosa, Yende bridges cultural divides and unites the church in one spirit. On “Awudeli Kimi,” he sings tenderly of God’s faithfulness:

“He who started this great work in me, He’s faithful, He will see me through,” echoing the promise of Philippians 1:6. The melody soothes like healing oil, a balm for weary hearts.

The Psalm 23-inspired “uMelusi” and “uMelusi Prayer” are standout meditations on the Good Shepherd’s care. With declarations like “Though I walk through the darkest valley, goodness and mercy shall follow me,” Yende anchors the EP in timeless biblical truth. These tracks feel like modern-day psalms, offering peace amid chaos, just as David once penned in Psalm 23:1,

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”

As the EP rises to a crescendo, “Call On The Name” brings the fire of the gospel with unshakable boldness. “We will not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ… Call on the name that saves” rings out like a rallying cry for believers, mirroring the charge of Romans 10:13“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” It is the sound of revival, of souls awakening.

The crown jewel of the EP is “Amandla Amasha,” featuring the glorious harmonies of Brenden Praise. A powerful anthem of divine renewal, it draws from Isaiah 40:31:

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”

The Zulu refrain, “Amandla amasha, bayokhuphuka ngama phiko,” wraps the message in rich African heritage, declaring new strength with every breath.
