The collective, founded and mentored by award-winning gospel artist Dumi Mkokstad, is scheduled to release the worship anthem this Friday, with a second release, “Mini Coops,” expected to follow the following week.

Mkokstad confirmed the rollout in a social media post, writing: “THIS FRIDAY #KINGDOM_WORSHIPs Uyinkosi Yezulu drops. Next week Friday it’s Mini Coops.”

Translated as “You Are the King of Heaven,” “Uyinkosi Yezulu” is a worship song built around a declaration of God’s greatness and sovereignty. The song is already familiar to some gospel audiences, having been performed by established acts including Joyous Celebration.

The track also has a history within Mkokstad’s Kingdom Mandate Revival events, where it featured as an opening worship number. Its release now gives Kingdom Worship the opportunity to take a song that has already resonated in live ministry settings to a much wider audience.

Kingdom Worship, also known as Kingdom Worshippers, was formed following auditions in Durban through the Kingdom Mandate Talent Search. The initiative brought together a group of vocalists selected by Mkokstad with the aim of developing emerging gospel talent while creating music rooted in worship, faith and unity.

The collective has already gained live experience alongside Mkokstad during the Kingdom Mandate Revival Tour, an extensive celebration of his 25 years in ministry. The tour visited Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, giving audiences an early glimpse of the group’s vocal chemistry and worship ministry.

Now, Kingdom Worship is moving from the stage to streaming platforms, with “Uyinkosi Yezulu” serving as the first official step in that journey.

The following week, attention will shift to “Mini Coops,” which has already sparked curiosity among fans following the announcement. While details surrounding the second release remain limited, its scheduled arrival suggests that Kingdom Worship is beginning its journey with a consistent release rollout.

The formation of the group also reflects Mkokstad’s wider commitment to developing new voices within South African gospel music. Alongside his own acclaimed career, which includes South African Music Awards recognition, the singer has continued to create platforms for emerging artists to grow and minister.

With “Uyinkosi Yezulu,” Kingdom Worship is no longer simply a collective audiences have encountered at live events. The group is stepping into its own chapter and formally presenting its worship sound to listeners beyond the Kingdom Mandate stage.

As the Friday release approaches, gospel audiences can look forward to hearing the first official offering from a collective built around a simple mission: to use music as a vessel for worship and to point hearts back to God.

“Uyinkosi Yezulu” arrives this Friday, followed by “Mini Coops” seven days later.
