Alexander Pappas Takes His Worship Sound In A New Direction With “Hindsight” Album
Alexander Pappas Takes His Worship Sound in a New Direction With “Hindsight” Album. Former Hillsong Young & Free founding member Alexander Pappas is exploring a quieter side of Christian music with the release of Hindsight, a new independent collaboration with The Lofi Christian, released on October 16, 2026.
Known for creating atmospheric, chill Christian instrumentals and lo-fi reimaginations of faith-based music, The Lofi Christian brings a different sonic approach to Pappas’ songwriting background, which energetic congregational worship anthems have largely shaped.
Pappas rose to prominence through Hillsong Young & Free, contributing to songs such as “Alive,” “Wake” and “Real Love.” He also co-wrote Elevation Worship’s “Echo.” In recent years, however, his solo career has allowed him to explore different expressions of faith and music beyond the Sunday church gathering.
That journey has included the introspective EPs Idaho (2021) and American Dream (2022), which leaned into what Pappas described as “Monday music,” before he returned to a more congregational worship sound with Sunday, an April 2026 EP released through Integrity Music. The project featured songs including “Hands Up,” “Everything With Breath” and “Always Been Jesus.”
With Hindsight, Pappas steps outside that label framework for an independent release that brings him together with an artist known for a more relaxed, atmospheric sound. While detailed track information and an official explanation of the project remain limited at launch, the collaboration introduces another dimension to Pappas’ evolving musical journey.
The project also arrives against the backdrop of Pappas’ ongoing exploration of the relationship between worship expressed in a church gathering and faith lived out in everyday life. Based in Los Angeles, he continues to contribute to Lakewood Music while developing his own musical direction.
Rather than the high-energy arrangements associated with many of his earlier worship contributions, Hindsight offers an opportunity to explore a more understated musical setting through his partnership with The Lofi Christian.
The release brings together two distinct approaches to contemporary Christian music, making it a noteworthy addition for listeners who appreciate Pappas’ songwriting and The Lofi Christian’s laid-back reinterpretations of faith-inspired sounds.
Hindsight is available to stream on major music platforms.
