Franni Cash Reveals Why She Left We The Kingdom. Franni Cash is finally addressing the question many fans have been wondering about since she stepped into her solo chapter. During a recent Instagram Q&A, a fan asked the singer-songwriter why she left We The Kingdom, the acclaimed worship band she helped form with several of her family members.

Cash didn’t dodge the question. Instead, she offered a raw, thoughtful response that revealed both the difficulty of the decision and the freedom that followed.

“Some of you may know that We the Kingdom, the band I was in before I went solo, was some of my family members, and I loved that chapter with them,” she said. “At the end of 2023, I just felt this pull to step away, really just being real with y’all. I was like, I think I need to just have my family just be family. I need to preserve some family relationships.”

The honesty landed with weight. For years, We The Kingdom had been both a creative partnership and a family project. Stepping away meant choosing relationship over the band’s shared platform—an intentional move to protect the bonds that mattered most.

What happened next, though, surprised even Cash herself.

“But very quickly, I just started writing songs, and I just had people tell me, ‘Hey, you got to put this out,’” she continued. “And I was like, ‘Oh, that feels so vulnerable.’ I just started to fall in love with music again and be like, ‘Man, I got to do this.’”

That vulnerability has become the foundation of her solo work. The same instinct that told her to protect her family also pushed her back toward creating, this time without the structure of the band. The songs that poured out weren’t just material for another release—they were proof that stepping away hadn’t silenced her voice. It had sharpened it.

Cash’s comments offer a rare glimpse into the private cost of public ministry. Leaving a successful group, especially one built with family, is never simple. Yet her words suggest the decision was less about walking away from music and more about making space for both family and a new creative season to thrive.

For fans who have followed her journey from We The Kingdom into this new chapter, the message is clear: sometimes the most faithful next step is the one that feels the most exposed. And for Franni Cash, that step has already begun turning into songs.
