Forrest Frank Announces ‘The Jesus Generation’ Documentary Coming To Theatres In 2027. GRAMMY-nominated Christian artist Forrest Frank has unveiled the official teaser for The Jesus Generation, a feature documentary capturing the energy, worship, and spiritual impact of his record-setting 2026 headlining tour of the same name. The film is set for theatrical release in 2027 through Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate.

The short teaser intercuts roaring concert footage with intimate moments of prayer, testimony, and worship. Crowds of mostly young fans fill arenas and stadiums, hands raised, singing in unison. Voices in the trailer, including Chris Tomlin, Sadie Robertson Huff, Jelly Roll, and Michael W. Smith, frame the tour as more than a concert series. “I see a generation rising saying, ‘Yes, we will,’” one says. Another declares, “This is a God thing, man,” with Frank affirming, “Yes, it is a God thing.” The teaser closes with Frank reflecting, “I don’t know a better name to call it than the Jesus generation.”
The announcement arrives just after the close of the 29-city Jesus Generation Tour, which drew more than 519,000 people. The run averaged over 18,000 tickets and $1.46 million in gross per night, ranking No. 5 on Pollstar’s LIVE75 chart. Highlights included a peak of more than 27,000 at Hersheypark Stadium and a sold-out finale of over 35,000 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Support acts included Tori Kelly, Cory Asbury, and The Figs.
Frank has directed fans to forrestfrank.com to sign up for updates on the 2027 theatrical release. The teaser has already sparked strong reactions from those who attended the tour, many expressing excitement about seeing the movement captured on the big screen.
The Jesus Generation arrives as Frank continues a rapid rise marked by chart-topping singles, sold-out tours, and a growing cultural footprint in Christian music. The documentary promises to document not only the scale of the tour but the sense of revival and generational response that defined the summer of 2026.
