Sharing the news on Instagram, Gayle described the album as her favourite work to date, reflecting on the journey from its initial conception to its release. “My new Christmas worship album is finally here! Guys, this is my favorite album I’ve done yet and what started four years ago as a vision to resource the church has flourished into a collection of songs that I love and hope you will sing with so much joy!” she wrote.

Gayle also expressed gratitude to the people who supported the project throughout its development, acknowledging her team and everyone who shared her vision. She gave special recognition to her husband, Ryan Kennedy, for standing alongside her throughout the four-year process.

“Ryan, thank you for listening to me talk about and write about nothing else these last four years. You saw this through with me at every step and I love you,” she shared.

Released through Blue Duck Records, His Name Shall Be centres on the name, presence and promises of Jesus Christ. The album brings together newly written worship material and reimagined Christmas favourites, offering songs intended for both personal listening and corporate worship.

The collection opens with “Repeat the Sounding Joy,” an anthem that had already begun reaching choirs and worship teams ahead of the album’s arrival. The track sets the tone for a project built around celebrating the birth of Jesus and proclaiming His name through song.

Other songs on the album include the previously released “In the Presence of the King,” the title track “His Name Shall Be (Isaiah 9),” “Emmanuel,” featuring Ryan Kennedy, “What Kind of God,” “King Most Glorious” and “Gloria (He Shall Reign).”

The record also features fresh interpretations of Christmas standards, including “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “O Come All Ye Faithful (Hallelujah)” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” bringing familiar seasonal songs into the wider worship collection.

Concluding her announcement, Charity Gayle invited churches and listeners to join her in singing the album’s opening anthem, writing, “Church, let’s repeat the sounding joy together!”

After four years of writing, preparation and development, His Name Shall Be is now available, giving worship teams, families and congregations a new collection of songs to accompany their Christmas celebrations and direct their attention to Jesus.
