Victoria Orenze Reveals Why “I Believe” Became The Song That Blessed Her Most On ‘Just Believe’ Album. Nigerian gospel minister Victoria Orenze has opened up about the deeply personal song “I Believe,” revealing why the raw recording has become one of the songs that blesses her most on her forthcoming album Just Believe.
While discussing the project, Victoria Orenze singled out “I Believe,” the album’s closing song, describing it as a spontaneous and deeply spiritual recording that came together in a hotel room.
Unlike the other songs on the album, “I Believe” was not written by Orenze. The song was written by Pastor Amos and was recorded in an unfiltered form after Orenze said she felt the Lord insisting that the simple song needed to be included on the finished project.
“The last song on the album was done in a hotel room. It’s raw, and I was totally messed up by the Spirit of God,” Orenze explained.
The circumstances surrounding the song made its inclusion particularly significant. According to Orenze, Just Believe had already been completed, mixed and mastered when she felt the Lord leading her back to the simple message of “I Believe.”
She believes she now understands why that song had to be added to the album. “For the Lord insisted, after the album was finished and already been mixed and mastered, that He wanted to hear that simple song,” she said.
For Orenze, the song captures what she describes as a reasonable response to God after everything has been said and done: believing Him even when the answers are not yet clear.
“You might not know how, when, why, but when is the Lord. Just believe,” she said. Her explanation draws directly from biblical themes of faith and dependence on God, pointing to Scripture’s emphasis on believing in order to see the salvation of the Lord and the declaration that without faith it is impossible to please God.
Victoria Orenze also acknowledged that the recording is intentionally raw, saying she did not want to reveal its length because listeners should experience it for themselves.
The song, she explained, creates room for listeners to come before God honestly, acknowledging their need for Him without hiding their struggles. “It’s a song that will help you be raw and naked before your God to tell Him just how you need Him,” she said.
That vulnerability is further reflected in the biblical cry, “I believe, but help my unbelief,” a phrase that captures the tension between faith and human weakness.
For Orenze, “I Believe” therefore represents more than simply the final track on Just Believe. It became an unexpected addition that she believes carries the heart of the album’s message.
Although she expressed affection for every song on the forthcoming project, Orenze described the songs as experiences that are difficult to fully put into words, inviting listeners to experience Just Believe for themselves when it arrives.
