In that painful instant, she said something shifted within her. “But I just felt this like quickening of my spirit that no matter what the diagnosis was… this is who God was, and that He was with us and that He was the healer.” That conviction became the foundation of the song, not written for public release but as a gift to someone walking through suffering.
Johnson explained that the song was never initially about her own journey. “This song was not for me, but I really wrote it for my friends,” she shared, adding, “And it’s been a gift in that aspect.” Over time, what began as a private expression of comfort found its way into many other difficult stories and seasons of loss.
