Tauren Wells Shares The Heart Behind His Upcoming Album ‘Here Comes the Church’ Christian music artist Tauren Wells is inviting listeners into a deeply personal chapter of his faith journey with his forthcoming album, Here Comes the Church, a project he says was shaped by the experience of planting a church and witnessing God build something beautiful from broken lives.
In remarks about the album, Tauren Wells expressed his excitement over the project while pointing to what he considers one of the most powerful pictures of God’s work: the church.
“I just think that there’s nothing more beautiful than what God said He would build with His own hands: His church,” Wells said.
For the singer, that vision became more than a theological idea. It became something he experienced firsthand during what he described as a church planting season with White Stone, the church community he is involved with.
Wells said the album’s songs “flowed from my heart” throughout that season, giving the project a strong connection to the experiences, relationships and spiritual lessons that accompanied the church’s formation.
He also drew on the biblical imagery of broken stones being brought together, describing how God takes “the pieces of broken stone, our broken lives,” and fits them together for His glory.
That theme appears to sit at the heart of Here Comes the Church, with Wells presenting the album not simply as a collection of songs, but as an artistic reflection of what he has witnessed God doing through His people.
The project also became a collaborative effort, with Wells highlighting the involvement of friends across virtually every stage of its creation. From songwriting and performances to the album artwork and videos, he said the project brought together a community of creatives who helped shape the final experience.
“It was incredible to have so many friends involved,” Wells shared, pointing to the personal significance of having people close to him contribute to the project.
Rather than presenting the album as a solitary artistic statement, Wells hopes Here Comes the Church gives listeners an opportunity to pause and appreciate what he describes as “the beauty of the Lord and the church He is building.”
With the project emerging from such a defining season, Wells appears to be positioning the album as both a musical offering and a testimony of what he believes God can create when broken pieces are brought together.
“I hope you love it as much as I do,” he said.
