The Thousand Foot Krutch frontman and multi-Grammy Award winner join forces on the track, which arrives just weeks before the film makes its nationwide theatrical debut on September 18, 2026. Combining McNevan’s rock-driven intensity with TobyMac’s unmistakable hip-hop influence, “Walk Thru Fire” delivers a message centred on courage, faith and standing firm when the pressure is at its highest.
Inspired by the biblical account in the Book of Daniel, Daniel and the Fiery Furnace follows Daniel as he navigates the dangerous world of Babylon while serving under King Nebuchadnezzar. Mena Massoud, known for starring in Aladdin, takes on the role of Daniel, while Elijah Alexander of The Chosen portrays Nebuchadnezzar.
The story reaches its defining moment when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refuse to bow before the king’s golden image. Their decision leads to their punishment in a blazing furnace, setting the stage for one of Scripture’s most recognisable accounts of divine intervention.
That same spirit of resilience runs through “Walk Thru Fire.” Rather than simply serving as a companion piece to the movie, the song transforms the biblical theme into an anthem about remaining faithful through difficult circumstances.
The film’s official social media account teased the collaboration with the message, “The fire doesn’t have to burn you down,” while McNevan also celebrated the song’s release online after it landed on Apple Music’s “Rise Up” playlist.
For McNevan, the collaboration represents another extension of a career built around merging rock, rap and faith. Best known as the frontman of Canadian rock outfit Thousand Foot Krutch, the artist has continued creating music under his own name and as TeeRawk while collaborating with artists across the Christian music scene.
TobyMac brings his own legacy to the record. As a former member of DC Talk and a successful solo artist, he has spent decades connecting contemporary Christian music with rock, hip-hop and pop influences. His partnership with McNevan creates a cross-generational meeting point between two artists known for making faith-driven music with an energetic edge.
Behind the music, Daniel and the Fiery Furnace is being directed by brothers Matthew and Daniel Kooman, who are also behind the film’s production. The movie seeks to bring Daniel’s early story to the big screen while highlighting the courage of young believers confronted by political power, cultural pressure and seemingly impossible circumstances.
