The album is scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, marking a significant milestone in Bafundzie’s music journey. For the rising gospel artist, however, the project represents far more than the completion of a recording process.

“There was a moment when the Lord spoke a sound, a sound He had entrusted to me for my generation, and the instruction was clear: it must be released into the earth,” Bafundzie shared.

She revealed that while the instruction was clear, her circumstances initially caused her to question the assignment and negotiate with God. Despite her hesitation, she said the directive remained unchanged.

“This is what you will do. Thus says the Lord,” she recalled.

Bafundzie said everything began to change when she finally responded with a “yes.”

“And the moment I said yes, the miracle began. God provided. He sent the people. He opened the doors,” she said.

The artist also reflected on the many stages involved in bringing the album to life, saying she witnessed God’s provision throughout the process, from planning and rehearsals to recording, pre-production and post-production.

“I watched Him work, for He placed it in my spirit,” she added.

For Bafundzie, the experience ultimately revealed that the album was never simply about making music. She came to see it as an exercise in obedience and a test of faith, centred on carrying what she believes God had placed within her and releasing it publicly.

“I realized this was never just about an album. It was about obedience, and it was a test of faith. It was about carrying what God deposited in me and releasing it into the earth,” she said.

The album’s title, Thus Says the Lord, reflects the prophetic language that Bafundzie says guided the project from its earliest stages. She describes the body of work as “my yes, and it is His sound.”

With the project set to arrive on September 25, Bafundzie is now preparing to share with listeners the sound that began as a personal spiritual assignment and ultimately became her debut album.

“To God be all the glory. Thus says the Lord,” she concluded.
