Franni Cash Opens A New Chapter With Debut Solo Album “Here I Am.” Franni Cash has officially begun a new chapter with the release of her long-awaited debut solo album, Here I Am, a 13-track project that reflects nearly two decades of songwriting, personal change and a renewed relationship with music.
Released on 18 September 2026 through Capitol CMG, the album marks a significant step for Cash following her departure from We The Kingdom in 2023. As a lead vocalist and co-writer for the multi-generational Christian group, Cash helped shape a catalogue that earned major radio success alongside Grammy and Dove recognition.
Leaving the band also meant stepping away from a major part of her identity. Cash has previously explained that she was unsure whether she would continue making music after leaving the group, but soon discovered that singing remained an essential part of who she was.
Here I Am captures that discovery through songs that explore faith, doubt, identity and the experiences that have shaped Cash. Rather than presenting a polished version of her story, the album allows room for difficult questions and personal reflection.
Songs including “Raised by Wolves,” “Church Clothes,” “Menace,” “Jesus Girl,” “Darken the Doorway,” “The Real Thing” and “Jesus All Along” draw from Cash’s experiences with faith and church. She has also spoken publicly about spending 12 years in what she describes as a traumatic church community and the process of reconciling her beliefs with those experiences.
That vulnerability is especially evident on “My Piano (Voice Memo),” a stripped-back recording that brings the album to an intimate close and reinforces the personal nature of the project.
Cash’s musical influences extend beyond contemporary Christian music. Growing up around records by artists such as Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin helped shape her appreciation for classic rock, Motown, soul and jazz. Those influences find their way into an album that retains her instinct for strong melodies while giving her room to explore a broader musical identity.
The album title also has a history that reaches back to Cash’s teenage years. Her father, Grammy-winning producer and songwriter Ed Cash, encouraged her to record her musical ideas from a young age. By her mid-teens, she had accumulated enough material to envision an album called Here I Am.
That early project never materialised, but the title eventually returned with a different meaning. Years later, Cash found herself with a new collection of songs and a story she felt ready to tell.
The road to the album has already produced notable milestones. Songs released ahead of the full project have accumulated millions of streams, while Cash received her first solo Dove Award nomination.
The album’s release also coincides with the beginning of another important chapter in her career. Cash joins Amy Grant as an opening act on “The Me That Remains Tour,” which begins tonight in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The eight-date tour continues through the South and West Coast later this month.
For Cash, Here I Am represents more than her first solo album. It is the culmination of a journey that began with songs recorded as a teenager, continued through years with We The Kingdom and eventually led her to discover what remained when the band was no longer part of her story.
The result is an album rooted in faith while making room for questions, complexity and personal honesty. Cash has expressed the belief that deeply personal experiences can connect with people beyond the person who lived them. With Here I Am, she puts that idea into song and introduces listeners to the artist she has become.
