The song delivers a short yet intense declaration of spiritual freedom. It runs for about one minute and twenty-two seconds in its primary form. Listeners hear Oyor proclaim bold lines such as “I have escaped from the patterns of my father’s house” and “I have escaped from the rubbish in my lineage.” He follows these statements with the repeated challenge “Have you escaped?” before building to the affirmation “For with God anything is possible” and “I’m in Christ, so anything is possible.”

This chant carries the raw, prophetic energy that defines Oyor’s ministry. It functions more as a prayer weapon and faith declaration than a conventional worship single. Many believers have already begun using it in personal devotion times, prayer meetings, and revival sessions to break free from generational cycles and limitations.

Lawrence Gomba Oyor was born on June 16, 1991, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He grew up in a pastoral family as the son of the late Rev. Gomba Fortune Oyor and Rev. Patience Oyor. He holds a Law degree from the University of Ibadan and completed training at the Nigerian Law School before answering a clear call into full-time ministry. He later studied at Texas Bible Institute in the United States.

Today, Oyor serves as a revivalist, prophetic minstrel, and Senior Pastor of Davidic Generation Church in Ibadan. He also founded Catalyst Network International and co-leads the Davidic Minstrels movement. He is married to Darasimi Mike-Bamiloye, daughter of renowned gospel filmmaker Mike Bamiloye. The couple has two sons.

An initial single version of “I Have Escaped” appeared on February 4, 2026. Weeks of anticipation built on social media as Oyor and his team repeatedly asked followers the piercing question, “Have you escaped?” The response has been strong, with Christians sharing videos of themselves declaring the lyrics with conviction.

The release arrives at a time when many seek songs that go beyond entertainment to spark a real spiritual breakthrough. “I Have Escaped” echoes biblical truths of deliverance, reminding listeners that freedom comes through Christ rather than inherited family patterns or past limitations.
