Nathaniel Bassey Releases New Live Worship Album “The Life Recording.” Nigerian gospel singer, trumpeter and worship leader Nathaniel Bassey has released his latest live worship album, The Life Recording, bringing a fresh collection of praise and worship moments to listeners around the world.

The project arrived in the early hours of Friday, August 14, following a brief announcement from Bassey on social media. Sharing the news with his millions of followers, the celebrated worship leader wrote, “In a few hours, THE LIFE RECORDING will be LIVE!” alongside a link directing fans to the project.

For Bassey, however, The Life Recording is more than another album release. The project has been deliberately presented as a worship encounter, with its title pointing to the spiritual experience behind the recording.

It is titled ‘The LIFE recording’ for a purpose. We experienced the River of Life as we worship. And you are about to experience same,

He also described the project as a “great pre-Hallelujah Challenge encounter,” giving the album added significance for worshippers preparing for the annual Hallelujah Challenge, the global prayer and praise movement associated with his ministry.

The live recording features worship moments including “The Battle Belongs to God Praise Medley,” “Glory to God in the Highest,” and “New Beauty.” Together, the songs reflect Bassey’s familiar approach to worship, moving between intimate expressions of faith, energetic praise and his distinctive trumpet-led sound.

The Life Recording follows Nathaniel Bassey’s January 2026 album The Glory of His Presence, continuing a prolific run of worship projects that have positioned his music as an avenue for listeners to participate in recorded moments of corporate worship.

His catalogue includes projects such as The River and Hallelujah Live, while songs including “Imela,” “Olorun Agbaye (You Are Mighty)” and “Onise Iyanu” have helped establish him as one of Africa’s prominent contemporary gospel voices.

Rather than simply offering songs for casual listening, Bassey’s live recordings have consistently sought to create an atmosphere that extends beyond the original worship gathering. The Life Recording follows that same vision, giving listeners an opportunity to engage with the worship experience wherever they are.

As the project begins making its way into homes, churches, playlists and prayer rooms across the globe, Bassey’s message remains centred on encounter. For those pressing play, The Life Recording is an invitation to step into what he describes as the River of Life.
