Elevation Worship Releases 100-Minute Instrumental Album ‘Promise & Presence’ In a world built around constant noise, Elevation Worship is offering listeners a reason to slow down.
The GRAMMY-winning worship collective released Promise & Presence on Friday, August 21, a 100-minute instrumental project created to accompany prayer, reflection and quiet moments with God. Rather than aiming for the energy of a live worship set, the project leans into stillness, giving listeners space to pause and simply be present.
The release comes in two companion versions. The main instrumental edition features 12 extended tracks that bring together 25 songs, pairing familiar Elevation Worship anthems with beloved hymns. Meanwhile, Promise & Presence: Guided Scripture features Pastor Steven Furtick reading Scripture over the same atmospheric arrangements, offering listeners a more guided devotional experience.
“This is a resource designed to help listeners meditate on Scripture and invite the Holy Spirit into their everyday moments,” Elevation Worship’s Chris Brown said. He explained that the project was created to encourage people to slow down and intentionally make room for God’s presence.
Rather than following the conventional structure of a worship album, Promise & Presence unfolds like one extended prayer session. It begins with a gentle rendition of “Doxology” before moving through medleys including “I Know A Name / Jesus Be The Name / Worthy,” “Blessed Assurance / Trust In God / ’Tis So Sweet” and “I Need Thee Every Hour / Same God / Jireh / More Than Able.”
The project later moves into “It Is Well / Do It Again” and “Praise / Alleluia / Doxology,” while standalone instrumental versions of “When Wind Meets Fire” and “The Blessing” also feature. Newer material such as “God I’m Just Grateful / Sure Been Good” adds another layer to the collection.
With the lyrics removed, the familiar melodies take on a different role. Instead of leading listeners word for word, the music creates room for personal prayer, Scripture meditation and reflection.
The release also arrives just six months after Elevation Worship’s live album So Be It, which dropped on February 20. While that project carried a more declarative worship posture, Promise & Presence takes a quieter approach, allowing listeners to sit with the themes and promises behind the songs.
For Elevation Worship, the project represents another dimension of a ministry that has spent nearly two decades producing songs that have become staples in churches around the world. Tracks such as “The Blessing,” “Do It Again,” “O Come to the Altar” and “Praise” have helped establish the Charlotte-based collective as one of contemporary worship’s most influential voices.
Now, instead of filling a room with voices, Elevation Worship is creating space for silence.
Promise & Presence is available on major streaming platforms, with both versions designed to accompany everything from early-morning prayer and quiet commutes to late-night reflection. It is an invitation to step away from the rush, settle the heart and linger in the presence of the God who keeps His promises.
