Brooke Ligertwood Unites With Martin Smith And Brian Johnson To Introduce New Worship Track “Greatness” The worship music scene is stirring with excitement after a sneak peek from Brooke Ligertwood, the Grammy-winning songwriter and former Hillsong Worship leader known for hits like “Lead Me to the Cross” and her recent solo album EIGHT.

Brooke Ligertwood revealed she has joined forces with two worship legends, Martin Smith, the visionary founder and frontman of Delirious?, and Brian Johnson, co-founder of Bethel Music and a prolific songwriter, to craft a fresh new song titled “Greatness.”
“A few weeks ago, @martinsmithtv, @brianjohnsonm, and I wrapped up a song we’ve been working on for a while,” Ligertwood shared. “We’ve started leading it wherever we go. It’s called ‘Greatness.’ It’s not officially released yet. It is only living in our hearts, but let us know if we should share the chart.”
This powerful trio brings together a fusion of musical legacies. Ligertwood’s lyrical depth and soaring vocals, Smith’s trailblazing influence that shaped worship in the late ’90s and early 2000s, and Johnson’s heartfelt style rooted in Bethel’s spontaneous worship culture.
Ligertwood’s candid update reveals a beautiful, organic process in today’s polished music industry. She finished a song, loved it enough to lead it spontaneously in the moment, and invited the community’s voice before a wider release. It echoes how many beloved worship anthems have come to life, not through hype but through genuine encounters and shared experiences with God.
For now, “Greatness” dwells in the hearts and setlists of its creators. Whether it will become the next beloved congregational anthem remains to be seen, but worshippers everywhere are already united in one clear request: share the chart and let the world raise its voice in praise.
